In Retrospect

It's been a busy week, with piles of termwork to do,and even more last minute submissions and assignments!Top that with a sprinkle of the dreaded "exams",and you get the perfect recipe for the Great Indian Academic Horror Story!I kid you not, when I say we engineers reach that point in a semester where,if a car hit us,we would probably be thankful to the driver;in these months!
So,here I am,at some ridiculously absurd time in the morning(2.00,to be precise),lost in quiet contemplation!(I literally changed my twitter username to q8 contemplation>_<.Does that confirm me going nuts?!)Speaking of,it is so damn frustrating to get a proper Twitter Handle these days!If you think of something wonderfully unique, twitter tells you it's already taken! If you manage to avoid the already-takens,you run out of space for your awesomesauce username!hufff so much work:/(I tried UncivilizedSophistication,CrazyConsciousness and what-not!)Sorrry,straying off-topic here.
Getting back to said topic, there I am,sitting up late, papers strewn around me,assignments half completed,on my umpteenth coffee break of the day,and all I can think about is this:Life is an evolutionary process!Evolution,in turn is a daily process!
Sounds stupid,I know, but give it a thought!Today,I am this crazy kid with larger-than-life ideas;I am this ancient soul, with kiddish notions about the world;I am the oldest I have ever been, and the youngest I'll ever be,I am the sum total of all I have ever been, all my life! And yet,I am but a thought,an energy?,a soul, some consciousness in the vast expanse of this universe!Tomorrow,I evolve into something more-an infinitesimal change,a little maturity earned,a little experience turning out to be an eye opener,a little sorrow forgotten,a little more love,an expanse of infinite possibilities!
Truly enough, some infinities ARE bigger than other infinities(Thanks John Green),and when I actually give it all a thought, the universe spins in and out of focus,in a beautiful mess of chaotic understanding!A year seems like a huge period of time, but also a tiny dot in this timeless expanse of the universe,at the very same time!
Looking back,I remember loads of people who were an integral part of life, then;people without whom I couldn't imagine a Life! Some of them left, some have stuck around, and it seems like only yesterday, when I look at the pictures, lost in happy memories and quiet contemplation. Many others have now come to mean so much to me,and they might not stick around forever, but life has this inexplicably awesome quality of "going-on",and if you are open to it,love and happiness always find a way in!This is personal experience talking, and not just some crazy teen high on coffee(Or maybe,i dunno:p)!
Okay,so before you actually begin to worry bout me being eaten up by a philosophical guru or something, let me specify:NO,I have not gone bonkers(On the verge of it?maybe.Wait,NO,nay,nada).This is just the ancient soul talking, and now that I scroll up and actually READ what I've churned out,it does make sense, although the overall tone seems quite depressing(Read psychotic;or whatever)!I intended it to be otherwise, though.I love the daily pandemonium of evolving craziness that is Life! And everyone should, too, for we will never actually be the exact same again.Ever.
So why not try being the BEST possible version of oneself, because we only get to be that version just once? All of this may sound too "goody-two-shoes" for one's own good, but why lose a shot at The Good Life, when YOLO!>_<
No pictures in this post because come on,dyou expect this tired li'l bugger to search for pictures at this ungodly hour?Kidding, but I really don't find any, right now!
P.S:Thanks for reading.Yes.ThankYou for reading my nightly rants,my psychedelic ravings! You are awesome, like, seriously awesome!(wink wink)Comments and criticisms always welcome, but for this one post, don't tell me I've strayed off topic, because I know I have, and ya'll are lovely sugarbuns for still reading it all.
I am tempted to put in a Disclaimer here that if it all sounds too BS,its the caffiene talking,so blame it on the hours of scribbling that I was compelled to complete!
Stay Awesome,Stay Happy,Evolve.

A Day In The Life Of A Blogger

Disclaimer:We bloggers are not ExtraTerrestrials;but we tend to live awesome lives.
So,a day in the life of a blogger isn't all that different from their fellow readers.Well, that is only till blogger meets don't come into the picture!
Blogger meet?Well yeah, layman terms might explain it as a gathering of us obsessive compulsive individuals talking bout blogs, blogs and well, blogs.Sounds drab, aye?Rethink.
Now imagine this: The venue is an uptown nightclub,(The BlueFrog,in Mumbai),the sponsors are a popular web hosting company, the giveaways are some of the latest gadgets, the food is to die for,and the opening act is an indie band one can headbang to!No sir...this is no description of a party gone crazy.

This,is a brief glimpse of the happenings of IndiBlogger's last blogger meet!Oh,and did I mention, the speakers were so amazing, that people actually came down from pune to watch em give gyaan!
A solid line-up of speakers, among which Snigdha manchanda(Story ninja fame),lakshmi Rebecca(from Chai with Lakshmi),krishna chepuri (The UnReal Times) and Sherry Shroff(Our favorite fashion blogger) were my personal favorites,is what made the meet informative, educational, and extremely useful! It wasn't just the Rock Band or Stand-Up Comedy(Which btw was howlarious, thanks to bhavish ailani),which made the meet awesome,as the speakers elaborated on every aspect of blogging-legal,monetary,creative,and what-have-you!
The event, which kicked off to an awesome start with the opening gig by our very own "blogger-cum-rockers", ended in a win-it-all extravaganza where precious prizes like Moto G and Moto X handsets were given away.(Needless to say,my luck din't work,or I would have been jumping about it all over the place, and yodelling from rooftops!)

But the best part, wasnt the great food, the amazing speakers, the mesmerizing ambience,or the awesome music. It was this:We,as bloggers, are a very diminutive community.IndiBlogger has done a great job of bringing this community together, and meeting up fellow members of this close-knit community was the best part!!!!..

Its 2 in the morning now,and this is sort of an impulsive article, written under that shroud of sleep..so forgive me my faults..and if your interest is waning from the mundane awesomeness' of a bloggers life, let me tell you this:We win cash by merely saying a number..and we get to improve ourselves as well!

Signing off now, half asleep already, and will have to recheck it all once I wake up!Till then, loads of love.Stay happy

The Fault In Our Stars.

"Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years,Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid support group,Hazel's story is about to be completely rewritten."

Firstly, let me tell you what this blogpost is NOT:Its not a book review; It’s not paid promotion; It’s not fangirling; It is an ode of appreciation to one of the best books I have read in 2k14;no,scratch that;to the BEST book I have had the privilege of reading so far!
“THE FAULT IN OUR STARS” by one Mr.John Green was just another novel in my pile of birthday gifts.I hadn’t even heard about Green until that moment(my bad);So after I finished up the flashier titles(fifty shades and Nano),I finally decided to give it a try!
Twenty hours later,I finished the book;but the book,I felt, would never be finished with me!Or rather,I,would never be finished with the book!Very few tragedies actually earn my love and appreciation, and acceptance, most importantly! One never accepts tragedies, the human consciousness being a huge fan of the “happily-ever-afters”;but not in this case, monsieur, not in this case! The inevitability of it all,and the sad, resigned ease with which the reader accepts it,works wonders!Kudos,John Green. The world owes you one…(or maybe it’s just me!).
Everything in the book, from the beautifully affluent language to the witty sarcastic humor which leaves you breathless with the tragedy of it all,and the philosophy which the protagonists talk of,just mesmerizes readers! The descriptions,of illness,of the pain of the families of cancer patients,of the patients’ mentality, with no shreds of societal stereotypes spared, are accurate and precise!(I wouldn’t really know;but again, this is by far the most “real” account, however fictional, that I have come across!).
Hazel’s thoughts about the condolences on social networking sites actually make you sit back and ponder over the issue. The descriptions of Amsterdam are heart-breakingly beautiful;it is without a doubt,my favourite and most despised part of the book!Yes,don’t raise those brows, for TFIOS is one big paradox.I wouldn’t mind saying that “THE FAULT IN OUR STARS” would become “AN IMPERIAL AFFLICTION “ of many!"OKAY" would never be just another word for me anymore!Lastly,it reaffirms the belief that love makes the world go around;and that no matter what,if you look hard enough,(or even don't!);true love will always find you!(Cheesy;yeah, but I do believe it!)
If you are into intellectual, well crafted tragedies, read it once.If you are not into books, well,I still would request you to give it a try;you will love it,laugh and cry with it and always cherish it,like I do.
P.S:If you seriously can’t plant your behind in an easy chair for hours to go through that blasphemous task called reading(according to you),then worry not,for the movie adaptation is coming this June! One more thing, this is an emotional response and not an intellectual one,so no te encontrar fallos.Comments and Criticism is always welcome.Happy Reading:)

La douleur exquise

Eyes...steel gray...molten steel??or were they some other exotic colour? Was it the eyes she was attracted to?Or was it him?The entire 6 foot male homo sapien that she was pulled towards..at break-neck speed?!
Friends they were...good friends, close friends, even best friends if she could admit to that,if he could believe that! Then what now,was the strange constriction in her throat? What changed when she saw him with 'her'?What was that lone tear..that awful feeling of loneliness which suddenly overcame her like a gloomy black cloud which looms large over merry little villages, spreading gloom in its wake!
They were just friends werent they?!And  she was also just a friend of his...and what if she wasn't just that?what if there was more?!Why did that bother her as much as it did?!Why did it hurt?!They couldnt spend as much time together as they earlier would. She would always be around!Always pulling him away..away..everpresent "away"!
Why did that make her feel threatened? She was a beautiful entity, whereas her best friends always called her a plain jane.He used to tell her she was beautiful, that she "needed no make-up to cover up,that being the way she was was enough!" in those playful times they spent together! But even those times were hard to come by these days, like mirages in a hot desert,& all that remained was electronic communication,a void!A void that would never be filled?
The memories assailed her,.oh the memories!Beautiful, fantastic, lovely oh-she-could-go-on-describing-how-wonderful-&-never-run-out-of-words memories! They attacked her, crept on her from behind like really creepy witches, caught her unawares, rocked her with the joy,the nostalgia, the passion, the fun,and then, always, without fail, left her heart broken!Broken and grieving and sad and reminiscent and...hopeful!Oh so hopeful that she was nothing more than a friend.Hopes that she would get back things..the late night crazy conversations, the talking-slow-coz-your-momma-doesnt-know..the cute fights over which actor was hotter and which had the sexiest pout..the movies..the emotional outbursts..the fast food,..the studies..him!
Would she?
Tried my hand at writing fiction.Hope it's good enough.

The Marshall Mania

MARSHALL ERIKSEN.
Two words.
The definition of the purrrrfect guy for me.
Yessss call me lovestruck, call me crazy,i dont mind!
When I think of the perfect forever, its not some knight in shining armour(well legolas maybe, but that would be elf with shining hair and that is so not the point here, this is about marshall! #OhHowTheMindWanders!) or some other literary hero like christian grey  or even romeo ..its him...plain old marshall eriksen!
He may not be adonis, just a normal guy...but his six foot frame cuts an aww-so-adorable figure! The way he loves lily, the way he sleeps with just one lady and never regrets it,the way he looks at the kids, the way he is pure awesomeness, his environment-love,his dilemmas, his embarassments....himmm!Ohh i could go on and on and on....
So all the single guys out there who realllllly want someone worth cherishing....ummm like lily, stop spending on those fancy rides;dont run to gyms or guitar classes....go watch marshall instead!Be marshall....!:')
P.s: For those who could not make heads or tails of this article,*Bigggg scowl* you are not living!Thou art hopelessly deprived of awesomeness! Experts advice:Go watch HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER!

The Bloggeratti

I guess I wanted you more,,,,in the end it seemed there was no room for me still I tried to change your mind.. and looking back am sure,.I guess I wanted you more...ohhhh I dont need you anymore....I dont need you anyyyymore!
When this is the only thing playing on your mind and you begin to write a blog post, just because you haven't blogged in months and because you have nothing else to do and because it might bring some amount of perspective to your otherwise messed up life(or so you think!),this is what you end up typing;and then it would be a waste if you delete it and then again,it is good to start off on a poetic note,so you decide you might as well keep it!
Virat is losing matches, there's no semblance of order in the author's life. The mind wanders and you wonder how many people will actually feel for you if you suddenly go missing;just disappear off the face of the earth in a majestic "pooof"!Everybody is selfish."Everybody" doesnt care! You have to watch out for yourself. All the time.Makes one doubt the entire idea of a soulmate..yin-yang..the L word!Makes one wish that somebody would reaffirm your belief in it!*wink wink*
Before these ravings blow your mind away(unlikely, but may happen) or you just give up on reading(more likelier) ,let us come back to the topic.Or actually begin with it since we never really did!
Only 2% of the entire Indian population actively blogs.By "blogs" here, which is used as a verb,is implied everything including reading blogs to writing them, and even borrowing from them for projects(No.Exaggeration.Sorry.).So I might as well be a regular here, help India in the whole blogging scene....be part of the elite bloggerati of India.Watch this space for more rants?Pwettty Pweez?(:
While I am at it,I would also post some pieces from the news which are impressive enough to stay in my mind for hours, and some trinkets of wisdom I think up randomly, under the hashtag "SagaSpeaks".Okaay, might sound ridiculous, but appreciation would be welcome, criticism, though unwelcome(Come on nobody likes it!);would be acknowledged!
HAVE A HAPPY TODAY,TOMMOROW AND EVER AFTER!Stay blessed!
P.s:The above rant was actually typed out in a sleep deprived state with music blaring in the background,so no responsibilities taken!

Of Love,Sex,Commitment,Morality and all that Voodoo...

Boy meets girl.
Boy falls for girl.(yea poor creatures, are always expected to do all the falling)
Boy performs some cliche antiques to catch her eye.
Girl winks, the boy is on seventh heaven!
  They date.
  Girl wants commitment,Boy wants sex.
Girl gets her way,boy talks to her parents.
After some pre-marital drama, the happy couple say the vows.
  They grow old,pot-bellied and angry,together!
That has pretty much been the typical Indian story of a 'lou' marriage, albeit with a few juicy tadka's changing with the landscape and characters! But boyy! The times are sure changing nowadays. One can hear it in the frequent complaints of Indian teens that there was no proper "dating scene" in the country!True that, where will the poor kids go mating if there are no proms or bars to hang around?Even in the big cities, the scene is taking too long to change. There is a genuine shortage of understanding, mature individuals! If you sleep with a girl it's a shameful sin;if you get caught, even worse,as you find yourself stuck with her for a lifetime..!(or seven!)If you are a girl, its doomsday for you if it gets out!If you sleep with a guy,boy you might as well be a criminal here! This,is the reason why your "aaj-kal ke bacche" feel so enticed by the West! This very lack of freedom,to live life as we want it,drives us away,to settle down in faraway States and Kingdoms!
Times are changing though! Not advocating the western culture or anything, but here's an observation:I
read "Safe Haven" by nicholas sparks and "The Namesake" by jhoompa lahiri earlier this week.Sparks never dissapoints, and the love overwhelmed me as all of his other books did:") (I am allowed smileys) The Namesake was a good read.In the end, what struck me most was the differences.Katie, the female protagonist in Sparks work, abstains, because she is still legally married to her abusive, psychotic husband;and God forbids fornication! On the other hand,Mo,an ABCD(american born confused desi-thats what the author said),cheats on her well-mannered husband, with a man almost her father's age, just for the attraction and sheer pleasure of it!
Mo(ushumi) smokes, does drugs and drinks like a fish.Katie loves kids,is the perfect image of the ideal "mother" and isnt an alcoholic!Agreed that these are Indians born in the states and one could say that they dont know Indian culture;but does that make katie "Indian" because she fits this good lady image?Take a look closer home, aren't things almost the same?Aren't "desi" teens doing the same "cool" things?
Ofcourse I know I am getting so worked up in mere characters in works of fiction, but nowadays you can hear chachas and chachis blaming the "western, modern way of living" for anything ranging from their kids running away with their driver's sons to rapes and other huge crimes!Thinking of it,are the disgusting, drug addict,charas-intoxicated,daaru-guzzling goons even aware of the english language,to be INFLUENCED by it?!
So heading into 2014,isnt a change of mentality the need of the day?Instead of blaming others we might as well try to be good to ourselves and our people!
P.s-Ranted because one of my relatives didnt let me watch the latest episode of HIMYM after listening to barney talk for a minute.-.-
